Testimonials
Read on to find out how businesses across Scotland have benefited from Tourism Intelligence Scotland:
“The Listening to our Visitors Guide was extremely useful, especially in assisting me to make the best use of the internet within my business. The guide is clearly written, not patronising and the excellent layout visually draws you through it. I feel I have learnt a great deal from the guide and now even have the confidence to speak at my craft meetings about matters pertaining to business development and marketing!”
Traditional Hand Knitting Company, Argyll
“The Walking Tourism guide has been an extremely useful business development tool for businesses on the Fife Coastal Path, who recently launched the ‘Welcome Ports’ Scheme. This scheme was developed from customer feedback and the group believe it will not only enhance the walker’s experience but that businesses will benefit from the increased number of walkers. The TIS guide is a great resource to give businesses ideas on how to capitalise on these extra walkers and enhance their offering.”
Marta Ramage - Fife Coast & Countryside Trust, Kirkcaldy
“I was initially very attracted to the Listening to our Visitors guide by the high quality spec and great visuals. I thought the up to date case studies were excellent as well as the engagement with the industry, and I was compelled to read on. I feel it will provide me with an invaluable resource in the classroom for students studying customer care and hospitality.”
Gordon McIntyre - Head of the Hospitality Division, Glasgow Metropolitan College
“Since reading the Listening to our visitors guide last year we have introduced a visitor questionnaire. We undertook a mixture of self -completed paper surveys as well as verbal surveys by our staff. Interestingly the feedback was very positive and did not provide great insights, so we realised we needed to change the way the questions and answers were worded. Overall the guide was extremely helpful.”
Annabel Drysdale - Forvie National Nature Reserve, Aberdeenshire
”I attended the Listening to our Visitors workshop and received the guide, both of which motivated me to get on and spring clean my business! I realised that my website was out of date so I have now revamped it and 90% of my bookings now come through the site. I now run a Christmas competition to gain feedback and keep in contact with my customer database. The feedback from this provided information about people being disappointed with the local area, and as I am on the chair of the local tourism group I was also able to address this. Overall I found the information from TIS interesting, inspiring and relevant to a wide variety of businesses”.
Kate Ferguson – Ardmiddle Mains Self catering, Turiff
“I just wanted to let you know that I have already signed up to what I think is a hugely beneficial resource – Knowing Your Markets…Scotland’s Visitors”.
Stuart Green – Argyll & Bute Council
“This is amazing stuff, truly it’s great. As you know Apex do like to bang the environmental drum, but even so there are some fantastic stories and anecdotes here of people really taking the bull by the horns. I was diligently scribbling down ideas and questions only to then turn over the page to see that you were covering these issues!! So well done”.
Marcus Kenyon - Apex Hotels
“Today, as a tourism-related business, I received a copy of your Scottish Tourism In The Future brochure in the post. What an excellent publication – informative, inspiring, well designed….well done”.
Brian Burns – Brian Burns Associates
“I was very interested to read your downloadable guide to walking and I can see many synergies between the other outdoor activities. Is there an intention to produce a golf guide for businesses?”
Graham Hood – East of Scotland Golf
